This isn't a very long story, but it did happen, and when my mother told me about it in my early adulthood, it confirmed my belief in the paranormal.

One night, when I was five years old, I woke up during the night. I went into my mom's and dad's bedroom, and awakened my mom. I asked her, "Mom, if the President got shot in the head, would he die?"

My mother never told me what her response was to me or how she got me to go back to bed to sleep. Two days later she was astonished as she heard the news on television that President John F. Kennedy had just been assassinated during his visit to Dallas, Texas. She was dumbfounded on two levels - first, that the President had been killed, and second, that I had asked about it two days before it happened.
